9:15 – 10:15: “From Vision to Reality- Financing the Clean Energy Transition”

Accelerating the shift to sustainable district heating is essential for reaching the EU’s energy and climate goals — but financing remains a key barrier. Through concrete cases, speakers explores examples of how utilities and stakeholders are navigating the financial challenges and emerging opportunities in financing district heating across Europe. Moderated by Henrik Dalsgaard, Vice-President, COWI, DK (TBC)

10.30:– 11:30: “Energy Pioneers: Stories of Heating Europe”

Challenges, solutions, and key lessons learned from four utility case studies. This panel-based, case-driven session showcases best practices in district heating from across Europe, offering insights into what works — and why. It provides a platform for shared learning, discussion, and inspiration around solutions. Moderated by Birger Lauersen, Manager of International Affairs, Danish District Heating Association.

12:00 – 13:15: Lunch in restaurant – exclusively for international delegates

13.15 – 14.00: High level international keynote speaker (TBD)

14.45 – 15.45: “Energy at a Crossroads: Securing Power and Heating in an Uncertain World”

Geopolitics, innovation, and policy in the future of energy security. This high-level panel explores the shifting landscape of energy security in Europe, focusing on the intersection of geopolitical tensions, technological advancement, and policy development in heating Europe. Featuring voices from industry, policy, and academia, the session offers a multifaceted dialogue on reducing fossil fuel dependency, strengthening energy resilience, and advancing the green transition.

18:00 – 20:00: Formal dinner Brasserie Fionie – exclusively for international delegates

Depart from Copenhagen for full-day site visits showcasing real-world applications and innovations in district heating. Lunch and dinner included in Copenhagen. Plenty of networking opportunities throughout the day. Site track program is announced May 2025.

October 30, 2025
Full-day international conference and expo at Odense Congress Center. Engaging keynote sessions, expert panels, case-driven discussions, and an interactive Q&A format.

Large exhibition area open throughout the day for industry insights and partnerships. Primarily Danish exhibitors.

Conclude the day with a formal dinner and transport back to Copenhagen. Expected arrival in Copenhagen 22.30.

Think Tank Brundtland is a knowledge-based think tank dedicated to the democratic utility sectors: water, heating, and waste management. Brundtland bridges the utility sector, industry players, advisors, labor organizations, and the research community, promoting sustainable development, strengthening sector-wide innovation, and fostering knowledge-sharing across the supply industries.
